Interbus Costa Rica Shuttles

Interbus operates the largest network of shuttles with destinations throughout Costa Rica. They offer door to door service from your hotel in comfortable air conditioned vans or minibuses. Wifi is offered in most shuttles.
Interbus shuttles operate between most tourist destinations in Costa Rica on a fixed schedule which is the same 7 days a week. Some of the more popular routes operate twice a day with morning and afternoon services. Schedules and pricing vary by route so please use the search form below to get the details for the route you are interested in.
All routes must be booked and paid in advance and they do often sell out so you should not wait until the last minute.

Do you pickup/dropoff at my hotel? ▼
The service is generally door to door from the airport or your hotel to your next airport or hotel. However, if your pickup point is not on their list of pickup locations they will advise the closest location
Can I bring my pet? ▼
Pets are not permitted, you would need to consider a private service if you have a pet
Are there bathrooms onboard? ▼
Most routes (except very short ones) include a 15 minute rest stop for food and restrooms, there are no bathrooms on the shuttles
How much luggage is permitted? Can I bring a surfboard? ▼
Luggage included is one carry on and one suitcase which are stored inside the van (not on the roof). If you have extra luggage there will be an extra fee and the extra items must be booked in advance. Interbus does not transport surfboards, bicycles or kayaks. Please check our general shuttle booking form as other providers may allow these items
Are their discounts for children? ▼
Children under 12 years of age pay 50% of the adult rate. Children between 6 months and 3 years of age must use a carseat or booster during the trip. These are provided free of charge and must be requested when making the reservation
How do airport pickups work? ▼
At San Jose International you will meet your driver at Malinche Restaurant, just outside the arrivals area. At the Liberia airport you will meet your driver at the Britt Cafe. Note that this is a scheduled service shared with other passengers; if your flight is delayed unfortunately you will be marked as a no-show and no refund will apply
What are the capacity of the vehicles? ▼
Interbus uses 15 passenger vans but they have been adapted to transport 9 people allowing greater comfort. The baggage will always be placed inside the vehicle. The baggage allowance is one carry-on and one suitcase; if you have additional luggage or large items an extra charge will apply and they must be booked in advance
What if I need to change/cancel my shuttle ▼
Interbus shuttles book through the form below require 48 hours notice to change or 72 hours notice to cancel. The full details of the change/cancel policy can be found here.
