It is just a 45 minute flight to get from Pavas airport in San José to Bocas del Toro in Panama.

If you are planning a trip that includes both Puerto Viejo and Bocas del Toro this enables you to do our favorite circle route:
• San José to Puerto Viejo via shuttle and enjoy some days in PV
• Puerto Viejo to Bocas del Toro by shuttle and boat and explore Bocas
• Bocas del Toro back to San José by air
The reserve direction is of course possible too.

Fares

There are three fare types available with differences in luggage allowance and changeability:

• All fares are non-refundable
• All fares include 1 piece of hand baggage up to 10lb/4.5kg in addition to the checked baggage limit indicated with the fare type
• Sales tax is included in the fares
• Costa Rica exit tax is NOT included when flying from Costa Rica to Panama
